Job Description
Impulse Trading Co. is a leading lumber and plywood distribution center with a focus on products designed for custom sport-fishing yachts and home building trades. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and career-driven Sales Associate to join our team.
Impulse Trading Co. is committed to providing our customers with the best possible products and services. This year, we are looking to further our selection of marine-grade products and accessories, as well as expanding into the home building industry.
We are seeking a Sales Associate who is passionate about the marine and home building industries, and eager to help us grow our business. If you have experience in these industries, or have a strong interest in learning about them, we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in sales; with experience in boat building, home construction, or related industries considered a plus.
As a Sales Associate, you will be at the forefront of these new initiatives and will play a critical role in promoting our expanded product offerings to customers. For the first three months, we’ll begin training you within our warehouse, letting you become accustomed to our products, internal systems, and begin your interaction with customers on a daily basis. From there, we’ll assess your progress and decide together which direction is best suited for your skills and interests.
Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
· Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold-calling, networking, and other methods.
· Meet or exceed sales targets and goals on a regular basis.
· Provide accurate and timely quotes, pricing, and product information to customers.
· Collaborate with other team members to ensure customer satisfaction and accurate fulfillment of orders.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, products, and pricing to provide knowledgeable insight and recommendations to customers.
· Drive a forklift safely and effectively load, unload and move material in the warehouse. If you currently don’t have a forklift certification, onsite training with be provided.
Requirements
· 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in the lumber and plywood industry, boat building, home construction, or related fields. Knowledge of material usage in cabinet making and marine trades is a plus.
· 40-hour work weeks: occasional Saturdays from 8:00am until 12:00pm may be required.
· Can lift 20lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally.
· Can move up and down ladders frequently.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong customer service skills and a customer-focused approach to sales.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
